Dock Lights Up The Night!
The Pembroke Dock Festival Group, inconjuction with The Pembroke Dock Town Council, Llanion Communities First and
BAPTARA are pleased to announce the workshops and activities that have been arranged in the run up to this years
Lantern Parade which will take place on Friday 11th December from the Pembroke Dock Memorial Park.
Each year this event is growing, and we hope you will come along and make lanterns, join in the parade, gather together for the switching on of the Christmas Lights, singing carols, fireworks and much more....
If you, or
anyone you know would like to make a lantern, come along to one of
the free
open community workshops taking place at the Youth Centre on Bush
Streeton Saturday 5th
and Sunday 6th
December, from 10am-4pm. Just drop in- you will need a couple of
hours to make a Lantern.
Children
under 12 need to be accompanied by an adult.
Come along with
your family and friends and enjoy a magical evening to celebrate the
community and the festive season.
The fun
begins at 5pm with Professor Panic’s Fire Show kicking off
festivities in the Memorial Park in Bush Street. The Lantern Parade
will then assemble and leave the Memorial Park at 6pm with Father
Christmas.
The
lantern carriers and stilt walkers will parade through the town
accompanied by Pembroke Dock’s finest music maker’s, Samba Doc,
and arrive at the Christmas tree in Lower Meyrick Street to be
greeted by local entertainer Neil Thomas leading some rousing carols.
If you
would like to make a lantern for the parade, there are Open Family
workshops with Space2create, taking place in Pembroke Dock Youth
Centre on Saturday 5th
and Sunday 6th
December from 10 – 4 with festive refreshments available. There are
also adult workshops taking place in the Pater Hall, on Monday 7th
(2-4) and Tuesday 8th
December (1-3)
